Description
The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Airport Supervising Engineer/Architect position. This position provides project or day-to-day staff leadership and/or supervision for engineering or architectural design and/or construction projects and programs. Further, this position performs professional level engineering or architectural planning, design, and/or construction oversight for a variety of construction, remodeling, and major repairs of the airport and Clark County buildings and/or local agency buildings and other public facilities. This recruitment will be used to hire for various positions including, but not limited to, a Civil Engineer position and a Mechanical Engineer position.

Civil Engineer
The Civil Engineer position is a project management position and subject matter expert within the airport’s design and construction group. This position may serve as a supervisory role for some of the technical design staff. As an Owner’s Representative for the airport, this position will oversee civil engineering consultants for airport roadways and airfield projects; ensuring that all airport end users' needs are incorporated into the technical design documents and specifications. This position will manage the design scope, schedule, and budget. This position may also perform limited preparation of engineering construction documents required for smaller airport project needs, including necessary professional stamping, permitting, and required approval from necessary AHJs. This position will act as the liaison between the airport's construction management team and the design consultant, to enable a smoother construction administration process resulting in a more successful project.
Mechanical Engineer:
The Mechanical Engineer position is a project management position and subject matter expert within the airport’s design and construction group. This position may serve as a supervisory role for some of the technical design staff. As an Owner’s Representative for the airport, this position will oversee mechanical/plumbing engineering consultants for mechanical/plumbing projects within the terminal and airport owned facilities; ensuring that all airport end users' needs are incorporated into the technical design documents and specifications. This position will manage the design scope, schedule, and budget. This position may also perform limited preparation of engineering construction documents required for smaller airport project needs, including necessary professional stamping, permitting, and required approval from necessary AHJs. This position will act as the liaison between the airport's construction management team and the design consultant, to enable a smoother construction administration process resulting in a more successful project.
Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture and four (4) years of full-time professional level engineering or architectural design, plan checking, and/or project management experience. Education equivalency may be considered for registered architects.
