- Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance
Description
The Department of Finance in the College of Business Administration (CBA) at Kansas State University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance. The candidate will be responsible for research, teaching, and service activities in the CBA.
Research: Consistent with departmental guidelines, the candidate will be expected to publish in high-quality academic journals in finance or other related areas.
Teaching: The desired area of teaching expertise is financial services. The individual selected will teach financial services courses as a regular part of their teaching assignment. In addition, the individual should be able to teach in a supplementary area such as principles of finance.
Service: The individual selected will also be expected to demonstrate a commitment to collegiality and shared governance. As a part of this role, the individual will undertake service for the benefit of the department or college, such as being as an advisor to a student organization, participating in academic events, engaging with students, alumni, and corporations as a representative of the department, and/or serving on departmental or college committees as needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Finance or a closely related field from an AACSB accredited Business School.
- Demonstrated potential for conducting high-quality research and publishing in high-quality journals in the Finance discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for high quality teaching.
- Willingness to contribute to the service mission of the department and college.
The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong research record as demonstrated through publications in top academic journals and presentations at national academic conferences.
- Prior university teaching experience in Finance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Related professional work experience. - Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with students, alumni, and external partners to enhance academic and professional development opportunities.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship.
