The Department of Kinesiology & Sport Management (KNSM) (https://knsm.tamu.edu) within the College of Education and Human Development (https://education.tamu.edu/) at Texas A&M University (https://www.tamu.edu/) is accepting applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking candidates with leadership abilities who are capable of garnering external funding and who could mentor faculty and doctoral students. Strong candidates will be emerging scholars with an impactful research program that will advance the current department’s research strengths. The candidate will become an integral part of the Coaching and Teaching in Secondary Education (CTSE) faculty with expectations to engage in research efforts including interdisciplinary collaborations, aggressively seek funding opportunities, provide research mentorship for students, as well as teach undergraduate courses. Furthermore, service to the department, university, and profession is required for all tenure/tenure-track positions. Appointment: This is a full time, 9-month tenure-track position with a start date of August 2026. Requirements
Required - Candidates must hold a terminal degree (PhD or EdD) in Education, Exercise Science, Sport Psychology, Sport Management or related academic discipline.
Candidates must provide evidence of:
- A history of scholarly work focused on the teacher/coach profession, coach and/or player development, sport psychology, educational leadership, or related fields.
- A record of peer-reviewed publications in high-quality journals and presentations at national meetings.
- Training and experience in human subject research.
- A feasible plan for acquiring internal and external funding for cross-disciplinary research.
Preferred – Experience as a K-12 teacher/coach in public or private schools.
