Description
Salary Range: $75,000 - $100,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This position is eligible for bonuses in addition to salary, which can be discretionary or based upon profitability.

Practice Overview: This Attorney will join our fast-paced Creditors’ Rights Group, practicing bankruptcy (including Chapters 7, 11, and 13), commercial collections litigation, secured transactions, workouts, foreclosures, and judgment enforcement. This Attorney will join our Creditors’ Rights Group led by Mark Pinkston, a Partner with almost 40 years of bankruptcy experience. Our Creditor’s Rights Group handles cases throughout North Carolina with an emphasis on Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and South Carolina. This Attorney will be joining a well-established practice with extensive connections across Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee and with the opportunity for extensive mentorship and growth.

Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Must be able to manage and maintain a high-volume practice;
- Must be a team player with excellent delegation and interpersonal skills to work with paralegals and legal staff;
- Represent secured and unsecured creditors in state and federal litigation including bankruptcy proceedings;
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and legal memoranda;
- Appear in court and argue motions in counties throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and Eastern Tennessee;
- Manage, file, draft, and appear in foreclosures and collections proceedings in counties all over Western North Carolina and the Foothills;
- Advise clients on bankruptcy strategy and creditor remedies; and
- Participate in case strategy and trial preparation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience (and more senior laterals are encouraged to apply) in creditors’ rights, commercial litigation, or bankruptcy practice;
- Litigation proficiency;
- License to practice law in North Carolina (or eligible for admission by waiver);
- License to practice law in Tennessee and/or South Carolina are a plus but not required;
- Strong research, writing, and advocacy skills; and
- Strong interpersonal skills to work as part of a team.
