Summary Description: The Associate Director of Development is a seasoned fundraising professional who partners with the Chief Advancement Officer on all Fellowship Christian School fundraising and related Development programs, including annual giving, campaigns, planned gifts, prospect research, as well as corporate and foundation support. S/he helps manage and implement these fundraising initiatives in support of the larger Advancement goals that directly connect to Fellowship’s Mission and Vision. S/he reports to the Chief Advancement Officer and in consultation will help implement major gifts activities including managing a portfolio of donors, writing donor materials and helping execute tasks related to fundraising initiatives. The Associate Director of Development enjoys relationship-building, is a self-starter, detail focused and is highly organized.
Essential Functions:
- Partner with CAO to implement a comprehensive development program at Fellowship aiming to increase major gift support across all annual fundraising efforts.
- Maintain an active portfolio of major and planned gift prospects to cultivate and solicit.
- Provide regular, detailed reports and information to the CAO around fundraising activities.
- Partner with Donor Relations/Stewardship Coordinator to ensure regular donor recognition, data management and reporting to support all Fellowship fundraising activities.
- Support the CAO on fundraising initiatives which could include writing, researching, event management, and reporting.
- Write, edit, and implement donor communications through email, print, mail, and social media, in collaboration with the CAO.
- Manage donor interactions and other donor engagement through the development CRM to maintain accurate and timely information and records.
- Have an understanding of fundraising best practices and trends.
Requirements
Work Experience / Requirements:
- College Degree required, minimum bachelor’s degree.
- 3-5 years of fundraising experience, specifically within a non-profit.
- Results-oriented with an ability to consistently meet or exceed fundraising goals.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrated effectiveness in donor relations and ability to tell a story with passion and urgency.
- Work independently and as a team player, including managing multiple tasks and projects at a time.
- Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Work strategically with the administration and teams of staff and volunteers.
- Proficiency in Google suite (Google docs, slides, etc.) and Microsoft software applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of fundraising software/databases: Raiser’s Edge (preferred).
Additional Requirements / Responsibilities:
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Sign the Fellowship Christian School Statement of Faith.
- Acknowledge and understand Fellowship Christian School’s Mission and Vision Statements.
- Be a Christ follower whose relationship is defined by having received Christ as Savior and a pursuit of spiritual growth.
- Wear proper attire, consistent with the school’s dress code at all times and maintain a positive attitude and appearance in accordance with school standards.
- Report inappropriate behavior to School Administration to maintain a safe learning environment.
- Make a constructive effort to protect all students from conduct detriment to learning, health, or safety.
- Abide by and comply with all school policies and regulations.
- Must have the ability to work in a school environment by successfully passing the school-mandated background check process and Ministry Safe training.
- Other duties as requested or assigned by the CAO or Head of School.
