Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Central Office Vouchering & Random Moment Survey Unit Account Technician. Under general supervision, this position will analyze and maintain the Department's Random Moment Survey (RMS) accounting and reporting system. The position will also audits vouchers for assigned Department accounts to ensure compliance with rules and regulations promulgated by statute and external regulating agencies, as well as internal policies and procedures and contractual agreements. Additionally, the position will post coded vouchers to the online computerized accounting systems and determine cause for vouchers rejected by the computerized system and takes necessary action to resolve the problem. Essential Functions
- Serves as Account Technician for Random Moment Survey Administration
- Serves as Central Office Vouchering Unit Account Technician
- Audits vouchers for assigned Department accounts to ensure compliance with rules and regulations promulgated by statute and external regulating agencies, as well as internal policies and procedures and contractual agreements
- Posts coded vouchers to the online computerized accouting system
- Gathers information necessary to answer requests regarding vouchers payable from assigned Department accounts and returns vouchers to applicable Central Office unit, identifying discrepancies needing correction
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course OR three years of related bookkeeping experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of accounting techniques.
- 2 years of experience in an office setting applying working knowledge of state or non-state accounting procedures.
- 2 years of experience in an office setting utilizing working knowledge of office methods and procedures.
