About the Job
The School of Dentistry seeks candidates for a full-time clinical faculty position to serve as a Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor. This position will be located in the Division of Prosthodontics and will be responsible for providing clinical supervision in the predoctoral or advanced prosthodontic clinics and participation in the instruction in the preclinical arena, as assigned. One day a week intra or extra-mural faculty practice is allowed with approval.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate passion, clinical expertise, a positive attitude, and a collaborative team approach while supporting learners as they provide a high-quality, evidence-based, comprehensive dental environment. This candidate will have a record of teaching and demonstrated experience in curriculum development, with a history of delivering the following: effective lectures, seminars, simulations, workshops, labs, clinical and computer-based instruction, teaching preparation and standardization, and student advising and mentorship.
The Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor is expected to participate in continuing education, educational methodology programs, professional organizations, peer collaborations and faculty mentorship.
Responsibilities
This position may include, but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Teaching and mentoring students in the predoctoral clinic, preclinic, and advanced education clinic
Direct courses, provide lectures, or lead seminars for the predoctoral program and advanced education program
Participate in faculty, resident, and student research projects conducted by the Division of Prosthodontics
Participate in continuing education programs provided by the Division of Prosthodontics
Other responsibilities as assigned by the Division Director
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
DDS/DMD degree or recognized international equivalent
Current Minnesota Dental License or can obtain a license before the start date (a faculty license may be sponsored by the School of Dentistry if needed)
Completion of a CODA accredited Advanced Education Program in Prosthodontics
Completion of an advanced degree (Master of Science or PhD), publications, or research experience
Experience successfully working with a diverse patient base
Theoretical knowledge and clinical experience in Prosthodontics and digital dentistry
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated history of quality clinical and didactic teaching in prosthodontics
Willing to partner with peers and committed to maintaining a strong collaborative and team approach in Prosthodontics
Certification by the American Board of Prosthodontics

Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000/year; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment Category: 75%-100% Appointment (If job description above does not specify appointment or expected weekly hours, assume a 100% appointment.)
