Greencorps Chicago NFP d/b/a Greencorps Equitable and Transformative (G.E.T.) Solutions, a 501c3 organization, seeks to employ a Community Engagement Manager, who will assist the organization in its outreach and engagement with communities in the Chicagoland area. G.E.T. Solutions’ mission is to promote access to sustainable, environmental, and economic solutions for individuals and communities that have been historically impacted by systemic barriers and inequities.
This position will report to the Executive Director and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders. Under the direction of and as designated by the Executive Director, the Community Engagement Manager will support team leadership and management, advance process improvement, cultivate and build strong relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, specifically, local organizations, businesses, and private residents. The Community Engagement Manager will supervise a team of three (3) who will serve as Community Ambassadors. The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining community connections for recruitment, retention, training and development to advance organizational programs and initiatives. We are looking for an emotionally intelligent, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive Community Engagement Manager to function as an advocate, to support staff, community partners, and stakeholders in fostering their access and agency, expanding their knowledge, and developing supportive frameworks to improve their long-term success. We are also seeking a Community Engagement Manager who will advocate for and support the staff while helping them to support and provide effective services to the partners, stakeholders, and beneficiaries of the organization’s programs and initiatives.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT MANAGER INCLUDE:
Community Engagement & Partnership Cultivation
Establish, cultivate, and maintain relationships with key partners, stakeholders, community organizations, and groups.
Develop and execute community engagement strategies that align with organizational goals.
Manage and moderate online communities, including social media groups and forums.
Create and distribute engaging content that stimulates partnerships, programming, and initiatives.
Organize and host engaging online and in-person community events.
Engage community members, partners, and beneficiaries and assess their current conditions, needs, assets, and barriers.
Anticipate and diagnose emerging challenges of service delivery to preemptively address misunderstandings and promote growth in their engagement and access to opportunities.
Collaborate with the staff to promote and enhance service delivery.
Acts as a liaison for the organization with partners, stakeholders, and community members.
Develop and support the implementation of strategies to attract new partners and stakeholders and build relationships with the community.
Identify and cultivate new relationships and partnerships that enhance access to opportunities.
Design and assist in the implementation of outreach and recruitment strategies to increase engagement with partners and communities.
Create and develop outreach and recruitment tools (flyers, interest forms, etc.) tailored to specific demographics and aligned with the organization’s intended goals and objectives.
Management & Supervision
Support in the hiring, training, coaching, and motivating of the organization’s cross functional teams.
Manage and supervise Community Ambassadors to share vital information with community partners and members.
Assist in providing oversight of the organization’s cross functional team to include, but not limited to, guidance related to service delivery and documentation, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Track and compile data and documentation for bi-weekly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
Fiscal Management
Review and approve purchase orders for procurement of items as needed.
Track expenditures based on regulatory and grant requirements.
Assist with grant writing as assigned by the Executive Director
Curriculum Development and Training Materials
Assist in the creation of curriculum and training resources related to service delivery.
Assist in developing and leading training for staff, partners, and beneficiaries as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a BS or BA degree or an equivalent combination of five or more years of experience related to Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in teaching, practice, and/or research about issues of privilege and oppression, social justice, racial justice, social inequalities, and/or diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives for engagement in communities.
Demonstrated knowledge of Trauma Informed Care and Person-Centered Coaching models.
