Description
Seeking a Counsellor (Volunteer) Gold Coast Sister Connection, is a Registered Charity based in Queensland. Our charity supports disadvantaged women through the relief of social isolation, mental distress, including those affected by trauma, hardship, or significant life challenges. We provide inclusive, purpose-driven programs that foster social connection, education, resilience, and well-being, helping women re-engage with their community and build meaningful lives. This is achieved by creating culturally safe spaces and collaborating with community organizations.
You will be:
- Helping women develop coping strategies for mental distress and resilience.
Fostering a sense of well-being and purpose to help participants build meaningful lives.
Collaborating with program manager to ensure the highest standard of care in our purpose-driven programs.

Requirements
- We are looking for a candidate who is empathetic, professional, and shares our passion for women's well-being.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with women from diverse backgrounds.
- Volunteer Counsellor (1 or 2), who can work with our clients one on one (face to face, video or by phone). Gold Coast based, an advantage but not essential as this position can be remote.
- Required for 4 to 6 Hours per week (could be less, dependent on client numbers) hours across 2 days (time slots) each week. Flexible hours to suit.
- Versatile in your Counselling topics to cover a range of clients, including counselling for; grief and stress management, divorce, separation, chronic diagnosis, hardship, or significant life challenges.
- A valid Police Check & Blue Card (or willingness to obtain one).
