Job Summary
Support the Master on one of the Company’s 27m Incat Crowther Catamaran Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV), 2 weeks on/off rotational shift basis. The CTV will primarily be operating on the US East Coast in the wind farm development areas. The Mate will operate the CTV while the Master is off watch.
Location
Vessel will be operating on the US East Coast and will support offshore wind farm projects from Norfolk, VA to New Bedford, MA (it is not a requirement for residence to be in either VA or MA but candidate must be open to travel at company’s expense)
Experience
The CTV Mate must possess an in-depth knowledge of CTV management, safety, administration, and commercial operations, as well as navigational expertise. The CTV Mate must have consistent first-rate crew management skills and be conversant with vessel operations, small vessel handling, operation of the vessel safety management system, new vessel technologies. The CTV Mate will have the opportunity to advance to Master as the company grows the fleet of CTVs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the master in the operations of the vessel, perform the duties of a watch stander and other duties as assigned by the Master, and perform the duties of the Master in the event the Master becomes incapacitated.
2. Safely operate the vessel in compliance with all USCG, COLREGS, FCC, Class Society regulations and Company Policies.
3. Safely maneuver and assist in all operations of the CTV, including but not limited to, mooring operations, voyages and transits, personnel transfers, cargo operations, bunkering operations, fuel transfers, other operational missions the CTV may be engaged in under the direction of the Master.
3. Ensure safety of passengers, crew members, the vessel, and the environment.
4. Achieve customer and company’s operational objectives in a safe and efficient manner.
5. Hands on leader of HSEQ ensuring compliance of crew members, passengers and contractors onboard the CTV. Actively lead daily HSEQ compliance including HSEQ discussions, risk assessments, toolbox talks, completing of reports as dictated by the safety management system.
6. Participate in emergency drills as required. Familiar with use of emergency equipment and ability to instruct others on its use.
7. Assist Master in the management and assignment of duties to the vessel crew.
6. Planning, supervision and execution of vessel maintenance activities in accordance with the vessel maintenance plan.
7. Personnel, crew, contractor and passenger management whilst onboard the vessel.
8. Maintain all applicable credentials and training as required by regulatory bodies, company policies and customers.
9. Complete company daily and weekly reports and logs as required and report back to management on regular basis.
10. Employee will be required to accommodate onboard the vessel overnight during rotation as required by operations.

Requirements
Qualifications
If employee does not meet all requirements, company sponsored training may be provided.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
USCG Merchant Mariner’s Credential with 100 ton Near Coastal Master Endorsement or greater.
USCG issued Medical Certificate
USCG required DOT Drug Test Compliant
3 Years of documented experience as Mate of similarly sized vessel.
STCW Endorsements (Preferred):
STCW Basic Safety Training STCW A-VI/1 (Revalidation)
Basic & Advanced Fire Fighting STCW A-VI/1 & A-VI/3
First Aid/CPR/AED STCW A-V1/1-3
Medical Care Provider STCW A-VI/4
Ratings Forming Part of a Navigational Watch - STCW A-II/4 or;
OIC Navigational Watch and Mates LT 500 GT STCW A-II/3
Combined RADAR & ARPA STCW A-II/1, A-II/2, & A-II/3
ECDIS STCW A-II/1, A-II/2, & A-II/3
Competence in Survival Craft other than Fast Rescue Boat STCW A-VI/2-1
Leadership and Managerial Skills STCW A-II/2
FCC Radio License A-IV/2
GWO Boat Transfer Certificate – Training will be provided if needed.
Must possess or be able to acquire and maintain a Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
Certified in Crane Operation by OEM. (will be provided by employer)
Proficient in IMDG Code
Proficient in use of vessel related technologies, computers Microsoft programs.
