Research requests from the public.
Oversight of the History Department Collections.
Supervises the History Department Staff, including a planned Collections Manager and Curator of Textiles.
Liaison with the Museum’s Friends group to coordinate museum public engagement activities.
Working with the education curator and other staff, develop public education content, programming and exhibits, and the execution of same.
Produces analytical and narrative reports covering their areas of responsibility.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in history, prehistory, natural history, museum studies, education, or closely related field plus three years of professional experience in a museum. This experience must have included direct responsibility for museum collections involving the preparation of exhibit text regarding complex technical information, and/or developing, promoting, executing and evaluating educational programming;
