Description
New Leaf Symbiotics (NLS), an agricultural biologicals company, is looking for a Senior Research Associate with experience in management and analysis of greenhouse and field agricultural efficacy data. NLS company headquarters and laboratories are located in the Edge building at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, in St. Louis, Missouri. We are seeking an individual with a passion for sustainable agriculture and biological solutions, who will contribute to the commercialization of new microbial-based products by supporting the Trialing Operations and Plant Biology teams in managing, analyzing and reporting on crop performance datasets for biostimulants, bioinsecticides and biofungicides in a range of cropping systems.

Requirements
Data Management Senior Research Associate Responsibilities and Duties:
Manage incoming datasets—ensure datasets are standardized, machine-readable, and ready for downstream analysis and reporting.
Perform basic statistical analyses on multi-location greenhouse, small-plot, and on-farm field trials.
Generate clear, well-structured tables, figures, and visual summaries for internal reports and presentations.
Process and analyze precision on-farm data using spatial and statistical tools (e.g., QGIS, NewLeaf Precision)
Maintain and update the ARM Trial Database (ATD) and related data repositories.
Contribute to continuous improvement of data workflows and trial data management practices.
Support cross-functional data initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- Required: BA/BS in statistics, or a technical field with strong demonstrated ability in basic statistics
- Energetic and self-motivated individual with the ability and desire to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem-solving skills, and a detail-oriented approach
Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred: MS in statistics, or a technical field with strong demonstrated ability in basic statistics
- Preferred, training available: Experience with plant and/or plant-microbe datasets in a fundamental research or applied research setting
- Preferred, training available: Experience with data management and analysis software;
JMP – specifically linear mixed effects models
Agriculture Research Management (ARM) from Gylling Data Management
ARM Trial Database (ATD) from Gylling Data Management – or other relational database management experience
QGIS or other spatial and environmental data analysis
R Studio
