- Glaucoma or Comprehensive Ophthalmologist
Description
Talley Eye Institute is a thriving, physician-owned ophthalmology practice in Evansville, Indiana. We’re seeking a Glaucoma Specialist or General Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team beginning in the summer of 2026. Our group includes three retina surgeons, one cornea specialist, one uveitis specialist, three comprehensive ophthalmologists, and two residency-trained optometrists. We deliver care across multiple sites anchored by a modern main office adjacent to our own ambulatory surgery center, supported by a network of satellite clinics that broaden our patient base and surgical volume.
This is a high-volume, growth-oriented opportunity. Our anterior segment surgeons collectively perform more than 6,000 cataract surgeries each year, and we anticipate the incoming surgeon will perform approximately 1,100–1,500 cases in the first year. With low overhead, strong demand, and a respected referral network, compensation scales quickly as your practice grows. We pride ourselves on an ethical, patient-focused culture that emphasizes personable care and close collaboration with referring providers and our internal team.
We offer a clear path to partnership after approximately 18 months, including the opportunity for ASC ownership. Compensation is competitive and includes a generous base salary, signing bonus and/or residency/fellowship stipend, and a production bonus with first-year net income expected to exceed $400,000. Our comprehensive benefits include 401(k), CME support, health and dental insurance, and moving expenses. We are not affiliated with private equity, and our physicians are committed to remaining independent.
Evansville, located in southwest Indiana, combines small-town ease with metropolitan amenities. The metro area exceeds 360,000 residents and draws regionally up to one million. Cost of living is low, housing is affordable, schools are excellent (including Signature School, ranked #2 nationally by U.S. News & World Report), and the arts and recreation scenes are vibrant. Nearby Newburgh is among Indiana’s fastest-growing communities, with welcoming neighborhoods and a historic riverfront. We enjoy short drives to Louisville, Nashville, St. Louis, and Indianapolis; a convenient regional airport with direct flights to major hubs; a strong medical community with a favorable payor mix; and a physician-friendly environment with tort reform and low malpractice premiums.
Evansville is a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family—and Talley Eye Institute is a supportive, collegial place to build a long-term career.
