Description
The Grants Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing HomeAid Hawai‘i’s mission by securing and managing funding that supports the development of deeply affordable housing across the state. This position is responsible for identifying, writing, and managing grants from public, private, and corporate sources while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and alignment with organizational goals.
The Grants Manager oversees the full lifecycle of grant management, from prospect research and proposal development to tracking deliverables and reporting outcomes, translating HomeAid Hawai‘i’s impact and data into compelling, funder ready narratives that demonstrate measurable results and community value.
Requirements
Duties and Responsibilities
Grant Research, Writing, and Management
- Identify, research, and track grant opportunities from private foundations, corporations, and government sources aligned with HomeAid Hawai‘i’s mission and programs
- Prepare clear, compelling, and data informed grant proposals and supporting materials
- Manage the full grant lifecycle in Salesforce, including opportunity creation, application submission, award tracking, reporting deliverables, renewals, and closeouts
- Maintain an up to date grants calendar in Salesforce to track deadlines, tasks, and funder communications
- Ensure all grant activities comply with funder requirements, organizational policies, and reporting standards
Financial Coordination and Compliance
- Partner with the Finance Team to ensure grant budgets, invoices, and expenditures align with funder terms and reporting requirements
- Track and document grant related revenue and expenses in Salesforce in collaboration with Finance leadership
- Support quarterly and annual reporting cycles by compiling financials, data, and outcomes
- Partner with Project Directors and the Project Administrator to ensure alignment between project budgets, deliverables, and grant funded activities
Reporting and Impact Communication
- Prepare progress and final reports that clearly demonstrate outcomes, lessons learned, and community impact
- Gather and synthesize information across departments to accurately report grant supported achievements
- Use Salesforce data to generate performance insights, outcome reports, and funder communications
- Support leadership in translating data and impact metrics into compelling, funder ready stories
Partnership Cultivation and Stewardship
- Maintain strong, professional relationships with funders and partners through timely communication and recognition
- Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for renewed or expanded funding relationships
- Partner with the marketing and communications team to develop materials highlighting grant supported programs and stories
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in fundraising, philanthropy, or a related role with demonstrated success
- Proven ability to secure funding, manage funder relationships, and meet fundraising goals
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong grant writing ability
- Experience using donor or grant management systems, including Salesforce and Microsoft 365
- Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Commitment to HomeAid Hawai‘i’s mission and values and a passion for addressing housing insecurity
Preferred
- Advanced degree
- Knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Hawai‘i
- Experience with volunteer recruitment, in kind donations, or construction related partnerships
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Hand eye coordination and manual dexterity for office tasks
- Visual acuity to read printed and digital materials
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Adequate hearing and speaking ability for in person, phone, and video communication
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout the State of Hawai‘i
