Description
SUMMARY: The Mammography Technologist performs high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms to aid in the early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer and related conditions. This role requires expert use of mammography equipment, a strong commitment to patient-centered care, and collaboration with clinical and interdisciplinary teams to support timely, accurate imaging services. Compassion, safety, and quality standards are central to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or a related field. ARRT (R) certification required; ARRT (M) Mammography Certification required or must obtain within a specified timeframe. State licensure (if applicable).
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in mammography preferred, with experience in diagnostic breast imaging a plus.
Proficiency in 3D (Tomosynthesis) mammography, familiarity with PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.
Experience in stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies.
Knowledge of MQSA and ACR accreditation requirements.
Prior work experience in a breast center or hospital-based mammography department.
Strong interpersonal and communication
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.
Ability to clearly present ideas and recommendations, both verbally and in writing.
Problem-solving mindset with ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
Flexibility in work assignments and scheduling.
Working knowledge of quality improvement processes and NCQA standards.
Strong computer skills and EMR proficiency.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Ability to relate with warmth and effectiveness to the patients and to the providers of Broward Community and Family Health Centers
