Description
As the Operations Engineer here's the work you'll do:
Executes a range of engineering duties such as designing process layouts, creating and updating procedures, implementing safety enhancements and continuous improvement projects, and applying principles of design for manufacturing.
This role will report to our office in Middletown, IA.
Responsibilities
Prepare and update operator procedures for shop floor.
Address daily production related issues on shop floor.
Research and design systems related to continuous improvement.
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
Coordinate with external customers on shop floor related issues.
Develop and maintain process layouts for existing or new processes and equipment.
Requirements
KSAs (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to: compute rate, ratio and percent, draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple duties simultaneously. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, AutoCAD or other 3D Drawing/Modeling software. Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to prepare well written procedures and technical reports.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field; prefer IE or ME.
Length of Experience: 5+ years Engineering experience.
Licenses/ Registrations: Must possess a valid REAL ID-compliant drivers license, which includes the gold or black star in the upper corner, indicating it is federally compliant.
