Microenterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California
Position Overview
Microenterprise Collaborative of Inland Southern California is seeking a detail-oriented Program
Assistant to provide vital support for programs that help micro and small business owners
across the Inland Empire. The Program Assistant works closely with the Program Coordinator
and Program Specialist or Program Manager and/or Executive Director to handle logistics, data
entry, communications, and basic outreach so programs and events run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
1. Program and Event Support
Assist with scheduling, logistics, and basic coordination for workshops, webinars, and
cohort sessions (virtual and in-person).
Help set up Zoom meetings and other virtual platforms, admit participants, monitor
chat, and take notes.
Prepare and organize program materials such as sign-in sheets, slide decks, handouts,
and follow-up emails.
Support outreach to cities, chambers, libraries, and partners by sending templated
emails and tracking responses.
2. Participant and Stakeholder Assistance
Respond to routine inquiries from entrepreneurs and partners or route questions to the
appropriate staff member.
Maintain a friendly, professional tone in all communications and provide reminders for
upcoming events.
Assist with registration, confirmations, and attendance tracking for events and cohorts.
3. Data and Record Keeping
Enter and update participant, event, and partner information in the client
management/CRM system.
Ensure data is accurate, complete, and entered on time after events and meetings.
Help generate simple lists or summaries (e.g., attendance lists, contact lists) as
requested by program staff.
4. Administrative and Grant Support
Provide administrative support for internal and collaborative meetings, including
scheduling, calendar invites, and basic minutes.
Assist with organizing digital files, shared drives, and folders for grants, programs, and
events.
Collect basic program data (attendance, surveys, sign-in sheets) to support grant
reporting and evaluation.
5. Marketing and Outreach Support
Help prepare and post approved content for flyers, email announcements, and social
media under guidance from senior staff.
Maintain up-to-date contact lists for email distribution and partner outreach.
Other duties as requested or required in support of the Collaborative’s mission.
Requirements
Qualifications
Some college coursework or an associate degree preferred; relevant experience may
substitute.
1–2 years of experience in administrative support, customer service, event support, or a
similar role.
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; willingness to learn CRM
and event platforms (e.g., Eventbrite, Zoom).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in small business, entrepreneurship, or nonprofit/community work is a plus.
Required Skills and Attributes
Reliable, responsive, and able to complete tasks on deadline with guidance from
supervisors.
Comfortable working in a remote environment and asking questions when clarification
is needed.
Positive, customer-service mindset when working with entrepreneurs and partners.
Ability to manage multiple small tasks at once and track progress.
Work Environment
Primarily a full-time remote position based in the Inland Empire region.
Regular work hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or
weekend hours for events (daily hours flexed to not exceed 8 hours per day). Flexible
hours to accommodate necessary schedules for work.
Must have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace for virtual
meetings.
Must have cell phone and be willing to use for work
Must have reliable transportation to/from events
Occasional local travel may be requested to support in-person events and meetings.
Salary & Benefits:
Hourly rate: 25 – 30 dollars per hour, depending on experience
Employer-paid individual health insurance (up to 800 dollars per month in premiums)
Paid sick leave and paid time off (PTO)
Professional Development Opportunities
This is primarily a remote position, but local travel is required for meetings and events within the Inland Empire region, on occasion The High Desert and Coachella Valley, Orange and Los Angeles Counties.
