Within a therapeutic residential care setting, MYSI provides case management services for stabilization and family reunification, life skills development, recreational activities, and weekly support groups for clients aged 14 to 21.
What you can except:
The Legacy Program Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Legacy Transitional Living Program (TLP). This position reports to the Director of Programs and provides leadership and supervision to the Site Coordinators/Supervisors, Advocacy Coordinators, and residential staff. The Program Manager ensures that program staff provide consistent, client-centered, and goal-oriented support to individuals who are preparing to emancipate from Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) care or who are returning from Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) detention. This position is responsible for ensuring all licensing and accreditation requirements are met, and outcomes are tracked. The Program Manager ensures a safe, clean, supportive, and structured environment, that fosters growth, independence, and successful transition to permanent housing.
The Program Manager participates in monthly leadership team meetings to strengthen MYSI services, staff, and service delivery. This position will require participation in an on-call rotation schedule to respond to after-hours client crisis.

Program Operations:
- Ensure program operations comply with program plans and licensing standards.
- Participates as an active team member in efforts to move the agency forward, including; Strategic Planning, licensing and accreditation, and ad hoc committees as needed.
- Provides a safe, comfortable, and trauma informed living environment.
- Achieve and maintain census targets for the Transitional Living Program.
- Submit required reports in a timely manner according to procedures.
Staff Supervision:
- Interview, recommend for hire, train, and evaluate residential staff and Advocacy Coordinators.
- Provide direct supervision and professional development opportunities to Site Coordinators/Supervisors, Advocacy Coordinators, and other assigned direct care staff.
- Ensure all youth living environments are clean and maintenance needs are addressed timely and professionally.
Schedule and facilitate team meetings, case conferences, and staff trainings. - Oversee the development and monitoring of individualized service plans that address housing stability, education, employment, mental health, life skills, and goal setting.
- Ensure staff attendance at administrative case reviews, court hearings, quarterly staffing meetings, department of juvenile justice reviews, family team meetings, and treatment team meetings, etc.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation in case files and data management systems.
- Review and audit client records for quality, accuracy, and compliance with MYSI and DCFS requirements.
- Regularly review medication logs and medical related documentation and processes to ensure
- Facilitate team meetings, case conferences, and in-service training sessions.
- Maintain flexible availability for on-call schedules to respond to emergency needs.
- Oversee and follow-up with staff to ensure the completion of all required shift documentation and reports across all designated shifts.
Client Services:
- Ensure services that promote independence by increasing life skills, education, and job skills that prepare the young adults for self-sufficiency.
- Coordinate with advocacy coordinators, residential staff, mental health providers, legal advocates, educational liaisons, etc. to support comprehensive care.
- Ensure the youth & staff initiate in-house, group/community activities.
- Safeguard the rights, privacy, and confidentiality of each youth by having a working knowledge of policies related to Client Rights and Prevention of Abuse and Neglect.
Community Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain relationships with DCFS providers, housing providers, and community resources.
- Represent the organization at community meetings, coalitions, and events relevant to transitional housing and youth/family services.
- Meet with the DCFS performance monitor monthly and submit reports as required/requested.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency with, or ability to quickly learn, case management software including Extended Reach and Illinois Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS).
- Demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with administration staff and people external to the program.
- Must be able to conceptualize a framework, collect, assemble, and present detailed information in an organized, concise, and understandable manner.
- Demonstrate cultural sensitivity to staff and clients served in MYSI programs.
- Demonstrated cultural humility and successful experience working with individuals from the communities to those who are unhoused, justice-involved, individuals with developmental disabilities, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.
Application Requirements set by Illinois DCFS Rule 401.310 and 409.140 a and b (TLPs) or 403.17, 403.30, and 403.31 (Group Home)
- Minimum 25 years of age.
- Minimum 3 years of full-time experience in a residential, transitional or shelter care program or in related youth service programs.
- Possess one of the following academic credentials:
- MSW (Preferred) or other Masters Degree; or
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or human services or an academically equivalent degree.
- Must apply within six months of hire and enroll within 18 months in a graduate social work (MSW) program or academically equivalent program.
Additional MYSI Application Requirements for Program Managers:
- Three to four years full-time experience in a social services setting serving populations that are clinically and demographically similar to the relevant MYSI program’s client base, of which at least two years must be in a residential setting and one year must be in a supervisory capacity.
- Must be able to obtain CWEL within 2 months of hire and complete post-CWEL supervisory training within 6 months of hire
PREFERRED LICENSE:
- CWEL (Permanency) with a minimum of one-year post-CWEL supervisory experience.
Physical & Other Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to access and navigate each of the organization’s facilities and residences.
- A valid driver’s license and car insurance are required.
- Must have access to and or (possess) a reliable vehicle during your scheduled work shift.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
