Description

Works under the general supervision of the Public Works Division Supervisor who assigns major tasks and duties.  Is responsible for performing routine duties normally involving physical labor for the maintenance of City streets and right-of-way, sidewalks, storm drainage systems, utilities, parks, and general facilities.  

Requirements

Following are the minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required; minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the construction, operation, and maintenance of streets, drainage, parks or facilities required; valid State of Michigan driver’s license with a driving record free from serious or frequent violations; Class “B” CDL and/or ability to obtain within 6 months; ability to communicate respectfully and tactfully with customers (internal and external); must be able to communicate, read, write and understand written instructions in English; work within established guidelines, policies and procedures; regular and punctual attendance is an essential function; must be able to work in extreme weather conditions and perform heavy lifting.
