Rehabilitation Psychologist
The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at The MetroHealth System (MHS), in affiliation with Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) School of Medicine, is seeking a Rehabilitation Psychologist to join our dynamic, expanding academic program.
The selected candidate will provide inpatient and outpatient care for adults recovering from acquired neurologic conditions and injuries, serving as an integral member of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. The psychologist will play a key role in optimizing patient adjustment and coping through evidence-based psychological interventions in both acute and ambulatory settings.
Clinical responsibilities include management of adults following:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and concussion
- Stroke
- Neurodegenerative disease
- Seizure disorder
- Spinal cord injury
- Amputation and burn injury
- Chronic pain and complex musculoskeletal conditions
The psychologist will have the opportunity to contribute to the expansion of the Rehabilitation Psychology Program, engaging in individual, group, and family modalities. Academic responsibilities include teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees from PM&R and Psychiatry, as well as participation in research and scholarly activities.
Qualified candidates will also have the opportunity for protected research time, with active involvement in MHS’s federally designated Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Model System Center and ongoing efforts toward Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System designation.

The psychologist will join a growing division of six faculty members within Neuropsychology and Rehabilitation Psychology, providing a collaborative environment that fosters interdisciplinary care, professional development, and scholarly advancement.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited program
Completion of an APA- or CPA-accredited pre-doctoral internship
Pre-doctoral or post-doctoral experience in rehabilitation, health psychology, or neuropsychology, preferably in interdisciplinary medical settings
Post-doctoral fellowship in healthcare or rehabilitation psychology is preferred
Eligibility for Ohio licensure as a psychologist
