About the Role
Prodigy Volleyball Academy is seeking a high-caliber leader to serve as the Senior Director of Volleyball and Assistant General Manager (AGM). This is a dual-focus executive role designed for a professional who is as comfortable analyzing a P&L statement as they are mentoring a coaching staff.
You will be the "Chief Operating Officer" of our volleyball programs, providing direct oversight to our three program divisions (Club/Travel, Ace & All-Stars, and Developmental Leagues/Camps/Clinics). Your mission is to synchronize these departments into a seamless athlete experience while upholding the "Prodigy Difference."
Our Philosophy: The "Prodigy Difference"
At Prodigy, we believe volleyball is a vehicle for character development. We are developing great athletes, and great people. The Senior Director/AGM is the primary steward of this culture. You will ensure that every coach—from developmental to elite—prioritizes resilience, integrity, and leadership. You will lead by example, proving that competitive excellence and high-character mentorship are not mutually exclusive.
Key Responsibilities

Staff Development: Oversee the recruitment and "Direct Report" guidance for the entire volleyball coaching roster. Implement coach/mentee recognition and inspiration systems to reduce turnover and increase engagement.
Standardization: Ensure consistent communication protocols and disciplinary procedures are applied across all program tiers with athletes, coaches, and parents.
2. Financial Stewardship (P&L Mindset)
Operational Profitability: Manage the budget and P&L for volleyball operations, identifying growth opportunities in "a-la-carte" services and the Prodigy Academy.
Sponsorship & Partnerships: Leverage community relationships to secure sponsorships for both boys’ and girls’ programs and identify "outbound" locations to expand programming beyond the primary facility.
Resource Optimization: Balance court reservations, tournament entry fees, and staffing costs to ensure fiscal sustainability without sacrificing player experience.
3. Program Operations & Lifecycle
Master Scheduling: Coordinate with the GM to manage facility flow, practice times, and court reservations for all tiers.
Athlete Development: Oversee athlete development from attending tryouts to the collegiate recruitment program, ensuring clear communication with parents regarding options, pricing, and the recruitment roadmap.
4. High-Level Communication
Crisis Management: Act as the final point of escalation for parent/coach conflicts or disciplinary issues.
Brand Voice: Collaborate with Marketing to ensure all communication blasts are timely and professional.
Requirements & Qualifications
Leadership Experience: 5+ years in a leadership role within a sports organization or athletic department. Experience managing other directors or department heads is required.
Financial Literacy: Proven experience managing a departmental budget (P&L), with a keen eye for revenue drivers and expense control.
Volleyball Expertise: Deep knowledge of the volleyball landscape, including GEVA/AAU/USAV regulations and the collegiate recruiting process.
Systems Proficiency: High competence in sports management software (e.g., SportsEngine) and communication platforms.
Character-Driven: A documented history of developing youth programs that focus on life skills, mental toughness, and character development.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
