Description

A TAB Commissioning Technician works closely with lead contractors to ensure that a building or construction project meets the operational requirements of the client. As a Commissioning Agent, your job duties involve overseeing the design, installation, testing, and maintenance of all components, materials, and systems.

What You'll Do

•        Supporting commissioning and design work by reviewing project specifications and drawings to help create a firm design, allowing for commissioning to be clearly integrated
•        Create functional performance test procedures for all types of facility HVAC and electrical systems: building automation, HVAC, heating, hot water, lighting, steam, renewable energy systems, and associated controls
•        Manage field inspections, overseeing equipment startups, and test and balance (TAB)
•        Manage field functional performance testing to verify and tune systems for optimum performance
•        Troubleshoot faulty systems, perform the technical analysis necessary to interpret system data, and provide recommendations for corrective action.
•        Assess, document, and write engineering reports of site observations, testing processes, and checklists
•        Prepare clear and concise deliverables, including technical reports, Cx reports, system manuals, and assessments, that convey technical information suitable for both lay and technical audiences

•        Assist with scheduling support when directed by the Account Manager
•        Provide recommendations and feedback regarding the design, equipment selection, testing requirements, and operations and maintenance.

Who You Are

•        Knowledge and interest in mechanical systems, or relevant trade experience (HVAC, controls, TAB, chillers, Cx, etc.)
•        Experience with TAB work on projects
•        Experience in one or more of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering, Chiller, Building Maintenance/ Building Automation Systems/HVAC Control, Facilities Operations Management, Building Commissioning.
•        Must be willing to travel locally and nationally up to 75% of the time
•        Must be able to climb ladders/stairs and carry objects (50 lbs. occasionally, 20 lbs. frequently)

Preferred Qualifications

•        Post-secondary education is a plus
•        TAB Experience and Certification (NEBB, AABC, NCI, or TABB)
•        Experience in engineering, controls, chillers, or HVAC field
•        Commissioning work experience in the design, installation, or start-up of HVAC, electrical, building automation, lighting, or other building systems
•        OSHA 30 accreditation
