Stanford OHS is looking for a versatile storyteller and digital strategist to help shape the 20th anniversary campaign and rebranding project. You will lead the narrative for our anniversary campaigns, drive content for a comprehensive web refresh, and grow our digital community. This role is perfect for a creative meets technical professional who can pivot from brand strategy to hands-on graphic design, content creation and web management.
Please note that the Stanford Online High School and Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies offices are located at the Stanford Redwood City Campus. Though the position is eligible for a Hybrid Work Arrangement, upon mutual agreement, it requires onsite work a minimum of two days per week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the drafting and editing of communications for the OHS 20th-anniversary campaigns, ensuring community-wide engagement through tailored storytelling.
- Write, revise and publish high-impact content for the OHS and Stanford Middle School Scholars website to support ongoing rebranding initiatives, collaborating with external vendors and internal marketing teams to refresh website and social media assets.
- Develop a variety of communication pieces for both print, email marketing, and digital media; copyedit materials and communications for publication.
- Perform basic graphic design using software applications to design materials according to defined branding requirements.
- Compile illustrations, photos, and copy for digital content and websites.
- Implement and execute integrated marketing communications and brand strategy across a variety of methods, including website, email, social media, and advertisements.
- Strategize to build and grow a digital community through social media channels, paid advertising campaigns, blogs, and the web; contribute to strategy, schedule posts, and engage with followers.
- Assist with photographing summer programs or other school events Stanford’s historic campus and online events to create a library of visual assets for marketing materials.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience in digital marketing, communications, and copy editing.Capability to edit content and build new web pages.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proofreading skills with previous experience as a copyeditor or writer.
- The ability to apply discretion and judgment in evaluating the implications of content release to internal and external audiences.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships.
- The ability to interpret and integrate feedback from team members and managers.
- The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals, including students, faculty, staff, donors, and external audiences.
Preferred skills include:
- Demonstrated experience with social media management.
- Experience working with graphics in a website and social media context.
- Previous experience creating drip campaigns in Slate.
- An eagerness to learn new technologies and explore evolving digital platforms.
- Proficiency with technology, including Google Drive applications, Drupal, Slate, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Flexibility to work occasional weekend or evening events.
The expected pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00 per hour not to exceed 40 hours per week. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
