Job Title: U.S. Federal Relations Specialist
Position Overview: We are seeking a versatile, highly organized professional to support our U.S. federal affairs and office operation needs. This role will interact regularly with congressional offices, the administration and Natural Gas Supply Association (NGSA) and Center for LNG (CLNG) members, assist with government relations monitoring and engagement, day-to-day office tasks, and provide light IT and technical support to ensure smooth internal operations across the two organizations.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is comfortable wearing multiple hats, has a minimum of 2 years of previous Hill or U.S. administration experience, can communicate professionally with external stakeholders, and can troubleshoot basic office issues in a fast-paced environment.
Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
Work Environment:

- Hybrid office and work from home, with Tuesdays and Wednesday in the office.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Congressional & Government Affairs Support:
- Leverage existing relationships to further grow NGSA and CLNG’s exposure and reputation on the Hill, in the administration, and with other trade associations in Washington D.C..
- Track legislative activity, hearings, markups, key deadlines, agency rules, and policymaker priorities.
- Serve as a point of contact with relevant congressional committees, agencies, and trade association peers.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings, briefings, and educational opportunities with policymakers, staff, and regulators.
- Assist with development of briefing materials, collateral, talking points, and testimony.
- Support NGSA and CLNG committee needs and provide timely proactive insights through member communications and support of weekly newsletters to memberships.
Office & Administrative Operations:
- Perform general office support duties. (Logistics, member database management, event planning, calendar management)
- Troubleshoot common issues with email, video conferencing, office software, and AV equipment as well as coordination with external IT support team when necessary.
- Assist with event development, meeting coordination, and internal planning.
- Support staff with ad-hoc projects.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience working with or interacting with Congress, federal agencies, or government affairs teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfort handling multiple responsibilities and shifting priorities across two organizations.
- Working knowledge of common IT systems (Windows, Teams, Microsoft 365, wireless AV).
- Ability to travel via airplane frequently.
- Ability to carry small objects weighing 20 lbs or less.
- Capable of starting at the new position by March 31st at the latest.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience on Capitol Hill in relevant committees or member offices, in the administration, in relevant government agencies, or at a trade association, advocacy organization, or government affairs firm.
- Ability to diagnose minor IT issues and support staff IT and logistical needs.
- Ability to incorporate AI in daily tasks.
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to policy audiences.
- Ability to distill policy issues for non-government relations audiences.
- Interest in public policy, advocacy, or regulatory affairs in the energy sector.
