- U.S. Paralympics Swimming Resident Team Coach
Description
U.S. Paralympics Swimming is seeking an exceptional and visionary Para Swimming Resident Team Program Coach to lead a world-class group of Paralympic athletes toward LA28 podium success. Based at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, this role is at the heart of the nation’s high-performance Para Swimming movement.
The ideal coach is both an elite technician and strategist and a leader of people, driven to cultivate excellence through data-informed decision-making, performance science integration, and a relentless commitment to athlete well-being and growth. This position offers the rare opportunity to shape the trajectory of U.S. Paralympics Swimming and mentor the next generation of Paralympic medalists. This position is anticipated to be a 1-year assignment, with potential eligibility for renewal after that period.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise & Sport Science or related field or equivalent training and/or experience
- U.S. Paralympics Swimming Para Coach certification (or ability to obtain)
- Currently certified in First Aid, CPR, and Safety Training for Swim Coaches
- 5 years of proven experience coaching at the elite or Paralympic level
- Supervisory experience, preferably leading 2 or more coaches or staff
- Expertise in swimming technique, race strategy, and performance analysis
- Strong background in applying data analytics to inform coaching decisions
- Proven ability to promote sport performance
- Deep understanding of long-term athlete development principles
- Understanding of World Para Swimming classification and points system
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to lead within a multi-disciplinary, high-performance environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and contribute to a positive working environment
