OWASA seeks a detail-oriented individual to join our Finance Team as an Accounting Technician. This role conducts activities related to processing payroll and monitoring fixed assets.
Essential Duties: Receives and reviews employee time and attendance data and payroll changes; processes bi-weekly payroll. Responds to requests for information related to compensation. Maintains subsidiary ledgers and reconciles to the general ledger. Prepares and enters journal entries. Performs bank and account reconciliations. Maintains fixed asset records for purchases, sales, and depreciation. Supports annual financial audit by preparing schedules for auditors. Receives and reviews information for posting to job cost and special project summaries and prepares journal entries to record related activity. Provide back-up and support for other positions in department.

Requirements
Requires high school diploma or GED, plus two years of specialized training in finance or accounting; an associate’s degree in accounting or finance; or two years of college courses in finance or accounting. Minimum of three years’ experience with payroll processing applications and financial accounting systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The ideal candidate is a team player with a service-oriented attitude, professional demeanor, and an excellent work ethic.Requires above average skills with Microsoft Excel and SharePoint. Position may be eligible to work remotely, up to two days a week, after six months of employment.
