Fulton State Hospital has over 400 hospital beds and is the oldest public mental health facility west of the Mississippi River. As a psychiatric pharmacist, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, provide evidence-based care to forensic psychiatric inpatients, teach psychiatry residents and psychology interns, and precept PGY-2 psychiatric pharmacy residents and pharmacy students. Additional responsibilities include supervising and utilizing automation for dispensing activities, verifying orders, checking technician-prepared products, maintaining security of pharmacy and controlled substances, and assisting the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.
Requirements
Graduate of a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred. Minimum two years of experience as a staff pharmacist or post-graduate Hospital pharmacy residency in an ASHP accredited program. Minimum one-year experience as a supervisory pharmacist involved with program development. Licensure in good standing as a Registered Pharmacist in the state of practice. Proficient computer skills using Pharmacy systems and Microsoft applications – Outlook, Word, Excel. Effective communication skills - verbal and written. Through training and/or experience, possess necessary knowledge to provide oversight of medication regimens for the patient populations treated in the facility including a knowledge of dosing for specific age populations.
