Forensicare is Victoria’s specialist provider of forensic mental health services. We are seeking a Hospital Lead, Psychiatry in this newly created role, to provide operational and strategic leadership for psychiatrists across Thomas Embling Hospital. This role ensures psychiatric care is safe, person-centred, and evidence-based, while fostering innovation and professional development.
You will work closely with the Director, Clinical Services to support broader directorate priorities, including governance, innovation, and integrated models of care.
Key Responsibilities
Lead psychiatric services ensuring safe, evidence-based care aligned with strategic priorities.
Supervise and develop consultants and registrars, promoting clinical excellence.
Coordinate medical workforce planning, including rotation schedules and leave management, to maintain service continuity and operational efficiency
Support the Director, Clinical Services strengthening clinical governance, embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Drive workforce planning, governance, and service innovation.
Build strong stakeholder relationships and support integrated models of care.
About You
Fellowship of RANZCP (or equivalent) and AHPRA registered, with substantial experience in psychiatry and prior experience as a forensic psychiatrist.
Advanced Training Certificate highly regarded.
Demonstrated understanding and application of clinical governance principles in the delivery of safe, high-quality forensic mental health services
Proven leadership in clinical settings, including experience managing and supervising a medical workforce.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
