St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Psychiatrist to join our team as Clinical Director – Mental Health and help lead the next phase of development of our Mental Health Services.
Mental Health is a key strategic priority for St Andrew’s. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical practice, leadership and service development, while establishing or expanding your own private psychiatric practice within one of regional Queensland’s leading private hospitals.
The Opportunity
Working closely with our Executive and clinical teams, you will help shape and grow Mental Health Services across areas including:
Contemporary Mental Health Day Programs
Inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services
New treatment and referral pathways
Defence and veteran mental health, including DVA pathways
TMS and Esketamine services
Multidisciplinary models of care
Workforce and registrar development
Strategic partnerships and regional referral networks

Build Your Private Practice
Alongside the Clinical Director role, there is a significant opportunity to establish or grow your own private psychiatric practice at St Andrew’s.
The Hospital can support you with:
Private hospital admitting rights
Consulting facilities
Administrative support
Integration with existing Mental Health Services
Executive and Business Development support
GP and specialist referral development
Marketing support
Private practice income remains entirely with the clinician.
Requirements
About You
We are looking for a Psychiatrist who brings strong clinical experience together with an interest in leadership, innovation and service development.
You will hold specialist qualifications in Psychiatry and be eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA.
Experience or interest in Mental Health Day Programs, Defence and veteran mental health, TMS, Esketamine or private practice development would be highly regarded.

What We Offer
An attractive Clinical Director remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, together with comprehensive support to establish or expand their private practice.
Relocation and establishment support may also be available for the successful candidate.
The Clinical Director role will initially focus on an establishment and development phase, with the opportunity to develop into an ongoing leadership position.
