Amara works to ensure that every child in foster care has the love, support and comfort of a committed family – as quickly as possible, and for as long as each child needs. We work with foster and adoptive families who are committed to caring for children, whether for a month, a year, or a lifetime.

Operating in Seattle and Tacoma, and serving most of Western Washington, we license foster and foster-adoptive families, and support our families through every step of their fostering journey; provide post-adoption support to adoptees and Amara adoptive families; provide a soft landing for kids entering foster care with our Emergency Sanctuary Program; and collaborate with others in the public and private sectors to build a better path for kids in foster care.
