Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center (NH NHRMC) is looking for a highly skilled pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to all age groups. NH NHRMC is the 9th largest health-system in North Carolina with 800 + beds and is a comprehensive stroke and level II trauma, teaching community hospital. The 17th Street Campus consists of a Women’s and Children’s center with NICU and PICU, neurology tower, medical/surgical tower, and inpatient rehabilitation and psychiatry units. Night shift also covers off-site, non-24 hour pharmacy acute care facilities in the region.
Pharmacists work with other healthcare providers to optimize medication regimens using evidence-based medicine and standards of care. The pharmacist will work 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday (0.875 FTE - 2100-0700) and will provide centralized order verification services and oversee the preparation and dispensing of sterile and non-sterile medications with one other central night shift pharmacist (in concert with 2 decentralized pharmacists). Other responsibilities include training new employees, educating patients, and supervising support personnel. The pharmacist will also provide services that maximize the hospital’s ability to meet national indicators.

Requirements
Applicants must have graduated from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy, have completed a PGY1 residency or equivalent, OR have two years of experience as a registered pharmacist in an acute care health system pharmacy. Applicant must be eligible for North Carolina licensure. Board of Pharmacy Specialty Certification is required within the first two years of hire. Other requirements include BLS certification.
